Giedrė Mockeliūnaitė, after an immersive journey through psychology and acting studies in New York City, returned to Lithuania to channel her multifaceted artistic experiences into painting. Since 2018, she has masterfully woven various art forms into her visual creations, asserting that painting is the culmination of her diverse artistic endeavors. Mockeliūnaitė finds profound joy in blending her cinematic, theatrical, and dance experiences with her visual art, creating a harmonious interplay between these disciplines. Her latest exhibition, "Kind of Blue," is a tribute to her profound inspirations: the enchanting world of jazz, particularly the works of Miles Davis. Through this collection, she eloquently bridges the auditory and the visual, inviting viewers into a sensory celebration of jazz's improvisational essence. Mockeliūnaitė's oeuvre often delves into the vibrant landscape of her childhood imagination, filled with whimsical characters and vivid hues that echo her inner child's dream world. Utilizing a mixed technique of oil, acrylics, pastels, and varied textures, she crafts large-scale canvases marked by dynamic strokes and meticulous detail, embodying the rhythmic pulse of her creative process.
